What about implementing support for monitoring CD-Roms?
That feature would be extremely usefull for me, since I can't see the led of my CD-writer and need to know when it's done. It would save me a lot of time!

I will also like this feature as I cannot see my DVD LEDS, they are covered by a spring cover.
