I am needing to make a large amount of commands for my menu system here.
I am finding though even with not even a quarter of the commands it takes a LONG time to show the menu. This is all internal over lan.

Any tips?

IME it seems that the JavaScript engine is the bottleneck, especially if you're setting font styles.  This is processor- rather than network-dependent.  I'm sure previous versions were quicker, though.

When do you notice this delay? When you select the menu item (group) that should display the commands? Or is it when you load the page?

When the page is loading. Its fine after loading.
