Hi:

I am having trouble with a few browsers when implementing my first menu.

I got the menu to work okay but when testing with

Netscape 4 and 4.8 they both choke on the first line.

I checked the forum but did not see anything.

Here is my page.
http://www.uncletim.com/index-newtest.htm

It seems to get stuck on this code at the beginning of the page.

This just a guess. It may be something else on this page.

Could you please give me your opinion.

If I can do something to make this compatible with older Netscape browsers, that would be good.

Thank you.

Tim

Please let me know if you would like to see the file.

I have the latest version, I just bought it yesterday.

Hi:

I am still having trouble getting this error to go away. It is happening in Netscape 4 and 4.8 at least. Here is a new url of another site.

http://www.theflatirons.com/index.htm

Line one of the javascript file is the problem. And the drop down menus are not working, they don't even show up. Here is an error message picture.

Help?

Hi there,
I'm getting the exact same error with Netscape 4.79. I've been using DHTML Menu Builder for many years now with no problems. It was the recent update to 4.9 which has hosed my menus in Netscape 4.79.

Anyone out there know what to do??? I'd make all my users change to another browser if it were possible...but it's not.

Thanks!

Try this. Go to Project Properties then Global Settings. Click Extended Features and look at "Generate Code for netscape 4" Make sure this is checked. Further down is " Fix for the avigator 4 Clip Bug" I'm not sure what this does so try the other idea first.

Dear Uncletim and avena,

Download and install version 4.9.016 and then recompile the project.
If you're not using any AddIns this will fix the problem.

The "What's New" section for 4.9.016 explains that this error has been fixed:

Well it did change things a bit. Now I get an error message that says Java Script Errpr Descripton
:ScrollTB is not defined

Source:/Menus/nsmenu.js Line:1

It still chokes in Netscape 4 and 4.8.

I recopiled the project (I have one secondary menus too, which was also recompiled correctly) and reinstalled the code on the project (after I tried it by just compiling it) and now the error message is slightly different.

Is it possible it is the menu and I just need to choose a different one?

I am running 4.6.016

Okay I have identified the problem is with the second menu. If I just load up one menu it works fine. But when the second one comes in, the error messages cascade.

Any advice as to how to mitigate this. I really need to use two menus if I can.

Thank you.
