Hello Hywel,
I've had the same problem. Xavier has changed the server. Your two links take me to different pages. One says the server is too busy to grant my request. The other is a link to here. My shortcut key stopped working and I had to reconfigure my Favorites. I still seem to be missing the odd posting though.

P.S. I daresay Xavier will pick this up or perhaps we should email him direct?

I expect Xavier will be along shortly with a flurry of answers.
Dear Forum members,
Everything was working just fine and I was able to import everything from the old server to the new one...
But, yesterday I started to notice some weird behavior in the server as I started to receive tons of (a) notifications about users trying to recover their DHTML Menu Builder registration details and (
lost of attempts to recover passwords from forum accounts.
Although the IP addresses of all the connections where quite different I was able to determine that they all came from Greece. That was enough to know that, once again, we were being hacked.
How sad is that? Someone using ISPs from such a beautiful country!
So, I did the obvious: I shutdown the Apache service, since all connections were being made via web requests.
Somehow and for some reason, this broke the indexes table for the forums leaving lots of posts with unmatched IDs...
I tried to fix it by hand but this would have taken me a year or so
So... all I could do was to restore the most recent backup I had: the one I made when I started to move to the new server.
I'm EXTREMELY sorry as I know we have lost a lot of posts. I'm specially sorry for those of you who dedicate part of your time to help others and now, your responses and helpful advices have been lost.
I have already contacted the ISP from where the attacks where generated.
I'm also working on a weekly scheduled automated backup... just as I had with the old server.
Once again, I'm sorry for the trouble and inconveniences this may have caused you.

Hello Xavier,
Thanks for your clear explanation. There is one thing I missed: what was the date and time of the backup you restored?

I knew you would come up with the answer. It really doesn't call for an apology from you. There are, apparently, many small ways each of us can help in times like this and I am absolutely certain that all our members will do whatever is necessary to put their lost postings up again. There are, sadly, a lot of misguided souls in the world. What a pity they can't make better use of their obvious talents.
Hey Ho!
regards to all

P.S. Old Chinese proverb " Don't let the b******" get you down!
