I have installed a menu system at the URL

http://www.riskresponse.com.au/menus.htm

I am then using this page as a page include for other pages.

Everything works ok for me, however my client has had trouble on his PC and laptop

The pull-downs and hovers work fine for him however when he clicks on any menu item he gets an error

"Javascript Error. Description: Function expected. Source: [The URL he is currently on]. Line: [varies]"

He then clicks ok on the error dialogue and is sent to the page he wanted.

He then has the same experience on the next page, the error always referencing the page he is on when he clicks.

He is using Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_2 etc ie the latest version with XP and SP2

This is the identical version that I am using with no such problem.

So far he is experiencing it on his PC and a laptop, not sure how widespread the error is as yet.

Please help urgently!

Are you using any of the IE-specific unfolding effects, such as "Fade"? If you are, remove them and then recompile your menu.

Also, upload your DMB project file to this forum.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I was using a wipe effect, I turned it off and it made no difference
The customer still reports the same problem

...however...

The customer has reported that if he turns off all his Add-ons in IE the menus work fine!

He is currently switching them back on one at a time to find the culprit..

Will keep the group posted on the results, xFx in particular may be interested in the cause

Further on this...

It appears the problem was being caused by browser add-ins called ;

PCTools Browser monitor - iesdpb.dll
PCTools Site Guard - iesdsg.dll

They come from a program called Spyware Doctor from PC Tools Pty Ltd

There must be some incompatibility issue with this way this add-on works and the way the xfx menu system works.

Xavier, perhaps you may be able to work with them on a mutual solution..?

Thanks
Hywel
I suspect those AddIns are fiddling with client-side scripting as it loads. There are hundreds of utilities, including AV software (Symantec, for example) that do this.
