Hello,

Whilst researching my javascript error issue (separate post) I noticed I receive a similar javascript error navigating through your own site!

When I go to www.xfx.net and click on the first link under the Utilities title down the left side, ie the link that says DHTML Menu Builder it takes me to http://www.xfx.net/utilities/dmbuilder/index.htm - but it also pops up an error message...

" Javascript error. Description: Object Required. Source: http://www.xfx.net/utilities/dmbuilder/index.htm Line: 222"

This is very similar to the error my customer received (the subject of my separate post) and again I am woindering whether it only happens to certain setups?

This is a great concern to me as I purchased this software for its apparent stability and compatibility.
When your own site is returning errors I am very worried about the product I have purchased.

I am using IE 6.0.2900.2180.xp_sp2 etc ie the latest IE with XP Pro and SP 2

Your comment on this errors as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using the same version of IE and don't get the error. What's your firewall doing with incoming JavaScript?

Thanks for the reply,

I have Windows XP firewall switched off, and I am using Norton Internet Security firewall. When I disable the Norton firewall, or even switch off the entire Norton Internet Security, the problem persists.

The reason this concerns me is that it may provide a hint to my other issue which is very similar. My customer gets an error message but I don't, using the same browser version and operationg system.

I feel if I can sort this out (seeing I can replicate it) it may help me with my own problem.

Any further theories would be appreciated!

Just a quick update on this for the benefit of readers.

I no longer receive this error, even though I have made no known changes on my PC.

I guess Xavier just quietly sorted out the problem...?

I wonder what it was.... perhaps we could have learned something...?

Thanks
Mark
