Full Version: javascript error - invalid argument

Hi, I have a site at www.hwpn.org that uses several DHTML menus. Lately some visitors are reporting intermittent JS errors (Invalid Argument). I cannot replicate this and frankly, I wouldn't know what to do.

Another visitor reports this error: Invalid Argument source https://www.hwpn.org/menus/iemenu./sline1

I have had the main menu become unresponsive sometimes and I have found that it is "fixed" if I unplug and re-plug the USB transmitter for my wireless mouse. Not sure if that is helpful at all.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello bonnie,

This could be because some of your visitors are using IE8 and your menus were compiled with an old version of DHTML Menu Builder. The recommended solution is to simply upgrade to the latest version and then re-compile your project:

- Download the latest version of DHTML Menu Builder
Standard Edition: http://software.xfx.net/utilities/dmbuilder/download.htm
LITE version: http://software.xfx.net/utilities/dmbuilderlite/download.htm

- Install it

- Re-compile your project

- Upload the new .js files to your web server

Please report back in case that your visitors continue to complain about javascript errors.

Thanks, one person reported back that this solved their issue. I haven't heard from the others but I assume it was an IE8 issue.

Thanks again!
