I am currently running an intranet site using DMB, where the menus appear over a frame - this is working perfectly and I love using the menus!!

I am thinking of making some design changes, however, and would like to put an iframe in the frame which the menus appear in, but of course I need the menus to appear over the iframe - is this feature supported in DMB yet, or if not, is there a way of getting around it?

Unfortunatelly this is not something that can be controlled through the js code generated by the menus.

Brosers render iframes the same way as standard frames making it impossible to place any DHTML object from one frame above another frame.

Only Internet Explorer 6 is "smart" enough to allow DHTML object to appear above iframes.

So unless you (and all your web site visitors) are using IE6 there's no way to force the menus to appear above an iframe.

Hi Xavier,

Fair enough - if the menus do not appears above iframes within the menu frame, will they appear above a layer or an ilayer within the menu frame?
xfx
Have you considered displaying the menus inside the iframe?

--------

Yes, with a proper zindex setting the menus will display above any div or layer.
