Hi,

I`ve tested the menu a lot during the last weeks. I couldn`t find a better program for dhtml x-browser fly-out-menus.

But there are a few things that I`m missing:

1.)
if you want to use the menu with a content-management-system, it would be better if the menu script would be initialisized with a text file so that you could generate the menu dynamically via the CMS.

I know that the code is more efficient now that it is compiled and compressed to one file - but you can only edit it with the program.

2.)
the links on my page don`t point to files like index.htm but to directory names with a trailing slash. E. g. "/products/datacom/" the program does not support these kind of links. It is possible to edit the links in the .js file but it is not very comfortable and every time you make changes to the menu and recompile it, the changes will be overwritten.

3.)
the positioning is a little bit different on IE/NS Mac. The menu appears a few pixels further down than on Win-Systems.

4.)
if you use flash-animations and the menu on one page the page flickers a lot on the Mac. I think this is more due to the bad browsers but maybe there is a way to make the menu/page more stable under this conditions.

all the best,

sacha,

I know you have been using the program a lot and I truly appreciate your comments.

1) This is probably the most requested feature. A version of DMB that supports (several) methods for programmatically creating, changing and removing menu items is under works. Unfortunately, due to lack of time the development of this version has extended way too much.

2) This shouldn't be a problem with DMB 3.6

3) hmmm... 99% of the time the problem is actually the whole content that is incorrectly rendered under both browsers. The menus use absolute coordinates while the content is usually relatively positioned. There many know problems with margins and table settings being incorrectly interpreted by the browsers.

4) Unfortunately there isn't much I can do about it. HTML plugins are treated by the browsers in such a way that leaves us very few options to optimize things and make DHTML content properly interact with the plugins.
